Who We Serve
Skagit Legal Aid serves people who are most often excluded from legal systems — not because their legal issues are less serious, but because our legal systems were never designed for them. We exclusively serve low income people across the Skagit Valley and islands of the Salish Sea.
We work primarily with:
Indigenous and Tribal community members
Farmworkers and immigrant families
Rural residents facing housing instability
People impacted by the criminal legal system
Many of our clients face overlapping barriers: language access needs, geographic isolation, poverty, and prior system involvement. These barriers turn ordinary civil legal problems into life-altering crises.
Our role is to remove those barriers and to ensure that access to justice is real, not theoretical.
