Skagit Legal Aid is convening a Tenant Legal Aid Advisory Group principally composed of members of priority tenant communities to meet approximately bimonthly through June 2023 at various locations across Skagit County.  

These meetings will include (1) updates on the status of evictions in Skagit County and San Juan County, (2) presentations followed by questions and answer periods about timely legal topics affecting the landlord/tenant relationship, and (3) an open forum period for Group members and meeting guests to provide input about tenant legal services.   

Lunch will be provided for all meeting attendees and the  Advisory Group members will receive a $50.00 stipend per meeting unless your employer prohibits you from receiving such payments.

Meetings will occur on the second Thursday in November, January, March, April, and June.  Locations will be announced 

Our first meeting will be held at the Burlington Public Library on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 11:30am - 1:30pm.  We will discuss cause-based evictions at our initial meeting. Other meetings will be held on the following dates: 

• Thursday, January 12, 2023 - Location to be determined 

• Thursday, March 9, 2023 - Location to be determined

• Thursday, April 13, 2023 - Location to be determined

• Thursday, June 8, 2023 - Location to be determined

Skagit Legal Aid is seeking at least three (3) local tenants to join the Tenant Legal Aid Advisory Group.
