Our Tenant Legal Aid Advisory Group is principally composed of members of priority tenant communities. We meet approximately bimonthly at various locations across Skagit County to discuss various issues related to the status of evictions in Skagit County and San Juan County.
Meetings include brief presentations followed by questions and answer periods about timely legal topics affecting the landlord/tenant relationship, and an open forum period for Group members and meeting guests to provide input about tenant legal services.
Our meeting in March will be hosted at the CCS Farmworker Center in Mount Vernon. This meeting will be focused on housing owned or provided by employers and the different rules that might apply. Tenants will learn how to exercise their legal rights and share their experiences with local legal aid attorneys.
Lunch will be provided for all meeting attendees and the Advisory Group members will receive a $50.00 stipend per meeting unless your employer prohibits you from receiving such payments.
Skagit Legal Aid is seeking local tenants to join the Tenant Legal Aid Advisory Group.
