Skagit Legal Aid and the Skagit County Bar Association are jointly hosting a virtual training about Teen Court in Skagit County!
Christine Frausto, Nathaniel Block, and Devin Hennessey will review RCW 2.30.010 concerning the legal basis for establishing therapeutic courts. The speakers will then discuss how teen courts can reduce recidivism by tapping into the power of positive peer influence. The speakers will review who is and is not eligible for teen court pursuant to RCW 2.30.030 and referrals to teen courts pursuant to RCW 13.40.070(11) & (12). The presentation will close with information about how local attorneys can get involved in the teen court process.
